Since launching the new calendar last week, we have made nearly 20 improvements. These updates make it easier to understand team capacity, read event details, use filters, and manage the schedule from a phone.

Budgeted hours and employee capacity

You can compare scheduled hours with your team’s available capacity from the calendar.

Daily cells and weekly headers show budgeted hours next to employee capacity. You can also review the workload by employee, crew, or event type and adjust someone’s capacity for a single day.

Daily totals stay visible

Daily totals now stay at the top of the calendar while you scroll through events in Day and Week views.

This makes it easier to check scheduled hours, capacity, and other totals without scrolling back to the top.

Longer event titles

Event titles can now display across three lines instead of being cut off after one line.

Better description formatting

Item and service descriptions now keep their spacing and line breaks in the event view. Longer descriptions should be easier to read.

Faster calendar filters

Calendar filters now include Select All and Select None controls. You can show or clear every option without changing each filter one at a time.

Select mode closes automatically

Select mode now closes after you complete an action from the bulk action menu or context menu. Events should no longer stay selected after the action is finished.

More accurate monthly revenue

Monthly revenue totals now only include dates inside the month you are viewing.

The total will no longer include revenue from days in the previous or next month just because they appear in an overlapping week.

Better mobile scrolling

We fixed a problem where scrolling on a phone could open the event status menu and make the calendar hard to use.

The menu should now open only when you tap an event without scrolling.

Correct mobile calendar link

The floating Calendar button on mobile now opens the new calendar instead of the classic scheduler.

Classic calendar access

Mobile users can still return to the classic calendar from the More menu when needed.

Better budgeted hours permissions

Budgeted hour totals now follow employee access settings. Employees without permission to view user information will not see totals that could reveal that information.

Better sidebar permissions

Crew and employee filters now follow the user’s calendar permissions. Employees without the required access will not see filters they cannot use.

Correct link after creating a visit

After creating a visit from an accepted estimate, the Calendar button now opens the new calendar instead of the classic scheduler.

The button label has also been updated from Schedule to Calendar.

Clearer waitlist counts

The waitlist count now stays inside its badge when the count reaches two or three digits. The text and badge adjust so larger counts remain easy to read.

Full-screen mobile waitlist

The waitlist now uses the full screen on mobile. This gives the list more room and makes it clearer when you are working in the waitlist instead of the calendar.

Calendar controls stay visible

We added more space around calendar controls so selected options and dropdowns are not cut off by the navigation.

Date controls stay in place

The back, forward, and Today controls now stay in the same place as you move between dates.

This makes it easier to move through several days, weeks, or months without the buttons jumping.

Editable visit notes

You can now edit visit notes from the event view. The editor supports text formatting, headings, lists, links, and emoji on desktop and mobile.

Consistent calendar buttons

Buttons inside calendar windows now use the same standard button style found across Homeworks.

Scroll while dragging

The calendar can now scroll vertically while you drag an event in Month view. This lets you move an event to a later week that is not currently visible on the screen.

These improvements are available now in the Homeworks calendar.
